StartUp Lab launches at Elon Law
The entrepreneurial business support and cultivation program of the Piedmont Triad Partnership (PTP) will be located in Elon Law’s Center for Professional Development at 101 West Friendly Avenue in downtown Greensboro.
PTP’s Triad StartUp Lab is an intense five-week program that matches eight high growth potential startups up with seasoned entrepreneurs, content experts and co-working space to propel them through their next business milestone.
“Triad StartUp Lab is an important extension of the PTP Next Business Competition program,” said David Powell, president and CEO of the Piedmont Triad Partnership. “It fills a gap in the Triad’s support ecosystem by tapping into our strong region-wide entrepreneurial knowledge-base, and putting that expertise to work with exciting new innovation-based companies.”
Hosted by Elon University Law School and housed in the law school’s new Center for Professional Development Center facility, the Triad StartUp Lab is also made possible with support of the Lincoln Financial Foundation
"We are glad to support the important work of the Piedmont Triad Partnership, fostering the growth of entrepreneurial companies in the region,” said Andy Haile, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Law. “Our involvement with the StartUp Lab is part of Elon's growing emphasis on business and commercial law. Elon Law students and faculty will benefit from interactions with the companies and business advisers involved in the StartUp Lab. We hope to build on this partnership in ways that enable our students and faculty to provide legal insights and business solutions for entrepreneurial ventures in the region."
The Piedmont Triad Partnership is the regional economic development organization working to drive job growth and economic prosperity for the 12-county Piedmont Triad region, the nation’s 37th-largest metro region with more than 1.6 million residents.
