Want to fill an upper level GST in D.C. & N.Y.C?
Spaces are still available for the Study USA Winter Term program "Wealth & Poverty"
Applications are being accepted until November 15 for the GST 416 "Wealth & Poverty" Winter Term course to New York City and Washington, D.C.
Students in this course will examine how economic globalization augments the divide between the rich and the poor and engage in a moral critique of the increasing disparities between wealth and poverty. To that end, we will examine the differences by reading relevant philosophical and ethical resources, working with the Poverty Initiative and meeting with representatives of UN agencies and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in New York City. Students will also spend three days in Washington, D.C., exploring the topic further. This couse fulfills upper level GST requirement and is open to students in their third and fourth years of study.
