Cinderella Project accepting prom & formal dress donations

As many as 100 local Burlington girls will be attending the Cinderella Project Conference on April 19 in the Moseley Center, and they need more prom and formal dress donations to make the event a smashing success!

On April 19, 50-100 “Cinderellas” will be preparing for the ball.  This time they will be transforming outfits from sneakers and jeans into prom dresses.

They’ll be taking part in the third annual “Cinderella Project,” hosted on Elon University's campus by a variety of student groups, including LASO, SPARKS Peer Educators, Alpha Phi Omega, EFFECT, the Office of Greek Life and the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement.

The event will allow girls from low-income families, who may otherwise be unable to afford a prom dress, the chance to receive one for free and enjoy the high school right of passage: prom night.  Entertainment, free food, hair and makeup boutiques, educational workshops, raffles, and the presentation of a college scholarship will also be a part of the daylong event.
