David Buck presents research at international conference on social issues

David Buck, an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology, presented research on sexual prejudice at the 10th biennial conference of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues in Portland, Oregon.

Buck's talk, "Concerns Over Misidentification and the Avoidance of Sexual Minorities", presented findings that show that concerns over the potential for being mispercieved as a sexual minority can lead some heterosexual individuals to exhibit increased bias against lesbian women and gay men.

This talk was included as part of a symposium on the implications of misidentification concerns for sexual prejudice and political decision making, chaired by E. Ashby Plant and Jennifer LaCrosse from Florida State University.
