Associate Professor Lynne Kurdziel Formato directed and choreographed the Scandinavian premiere of Disney's "The Little Mermaid" produced by the Fredericia Teater.

Opening night was at the Royal Opera House in Copenhagen on July 17, 2014. After a week hiatus the show will reopen on August 27 at the Fredericia Teater itself and continue its run.

The production has received both critical and audience acclaim, playing to full houses in Copenhagen, with many performances of its upcoming run already sold out. According to Soren Moller, the theatre's artistic director, the show is the year's biggest box-office success in Danish Theatre.

Cast members include Kristine Yde Eriksen as Ariel (voice of Princess Anna in the Danish version of "Frozen",) Christian Lund as Prince Eric (voice of Hans,) and many other celebrated Danish actors including Anders Bircow as Grimsby (among many credits, the voice of Mickey Mouse.)

As part of the many months of personal preparation, Formato involved Elon students as her preproduction choreographic team, a process akin to an incubative, explorative laboratory.

These six students and Elon University are credited on the program's title page.
