With decision time nearing on healthcare legislation in Congress, North Carolinians continue to believe that the nation's healthcare system is in need of reform, according to the latest Elon University Poll.

NPR legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg says federal courts could threaten Obama legacy
National Public Radio’s legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg, delivering Elon University School of Law’s spring 2010 Bryan Leadership Lecture, said the Supreme Court had become more divided and more activist than at any time in recent memory, and that major policy objectives of the Obama administration could be dismantled in years ahead by federal courts largely populated by Republican era appointees.

POWERless Energy Competition 2010 - Week 4 results
Oaks A and the Isabella Cannon Pavilion in the Academic Village led the way in the fourth week of Elon's POWERless Energy Competition. In the competition's Division I, Oaks A saw a 40.4 percent reduction in energy use in week four, while the Cannon Pavilion led Division II with a 44.6 percent reduction.

Steven Kinney signs with Major League Soccer team
Former Elon soccer standout Steven Kinney has signed a contract to play for Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire. Kinney became the first player in Elon program history to be drafted in the MLS last January and is the first to be signed by an MLS club after being drafted.

Gary Crittenden and Steve Young of Huntsman Gay Global Capital spoke about entrepreneurship and navigating difficult economic circumstances in McCrary Theatre on March 15. Their talk was hosted by Elon’s Student Entrepreneurial Enterprise Development (SEED) organization in association with the Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.
