Shannon Duvall recently presented a Workshop entitled “Active Teaching With Toys, Games, Stories, and Play” together with Robert Duvall of Duke University and Judith Hromcik of Arlington High School. The workshop was refereed and competitively selected for presentation at the Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education (SIGCSE) in Covington, Kentucky this March.

The workshop taught attendees ways to integrate “Kindergarten-style” teaching in computing classes to make the technical material more accessible to a wider audience.
