Mike Kingston, an associate professor of biology, served as a judge of the Derieux Award competition for best student paper in zoology and presented the Resolution of Thanks at the North Carolina Academy of Science Annual Meeting at UNC-Greensboro on March 28-30. 

He also presented a paper entitled “Temporal and Vertical Distribution of Euglena spp. in Beach Sand” at the Northwest Algal Symposium at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston, Ore., on April 4-6.
