Danieley Recognized at Luncheon |

 President
Emeritus J. Earl Danieley was recognized by President Leo M. Lambert during
the Daniels-Danieley Awards Luncheon May 9 for 55 years of service to his
alma mater.An Alamance County native, Danieley graduated from Elon in 1946 with a degree in chemistry. He joined the chemistry faculty in the fall of 1946 and went on to become dean. He was named Elon's sixth president in 1957, making him one of the youngest presidents in the country at that time. During his 16 years as president, he guided Elon to a new level of quality. Improvements were made in academic standards, faculty credentials and the physical plant. He retired from the presidency in 1973 to return to teaching. |
