In the Spotlight

Our In the Spotlight feature sheds light on different departments or events on campus. This month, we take a look at activities during Staff Appreciation Day, held May 24.



President Emeritus J. Earl Danieley uses his unique personal perspective to reflect on Elon's history with staff members in the Fireside Lounge of Moseley Center.
Tom DeLuca casts his spell over volunteer Stefanie Barbour as he begins his act at Staff Appreciation Day. DeLuca hypnotized over a dozen audience volunteers and elicited some outlandish behaviors. Most participants couldn't recall what they did on stage but felt "wonderful" after they came out of the event.



Tammy Shubert shows how inexpensive materials can be used to create beautiful arrangements as she leads a workshop titled "Beta in a Bowl and Other Office Decoration Ideas."

Jim Johnson points out a spot on campus as he and Stanley Greeson lead staff members on a tour of Elon. The tour, titled "Strangest Places You've Never Been," took participants into some of the nooks and crannies rarely seen by anyone other than the physical plant staff.



These staff members were asked to drive their favorite cars and enjoy cool beverages while under hypnosis.
