Brooke Barnett, assistant professor of communications
Brooke became an active member of the Elon faculty almost immediately,
taking part in a seminar on media coverage about the Sept. 11 terrorist
attacks. Her opinions on the topic went hand-in-hand with her research
interests, which include media law and television news.
After earning a bachelor's degree at Georgetown College, Brooke received
her master's degree and a doctorate from Indiana University, where
she also taught. She counts Elon's attractive campus, friendly atmosphere
and emphasis on study abroad among the reasons she decided to come
here.

he says the people and the facilities were the main reason he decided
to join the faculty. "The opportunities for research and the
people at Elon are outstanding," says the A.J. Fletcher Professor
of Communications.
David, who was a faculty member at Emory and Henry College in Virginia
before coming here, enjoys listening to and playing all types of music.
He has a variety of research interests, including religion and media,
media history and colonial American media.

An outdoor enthusiast, Joel enjoys playing basketball and golf, as
well as rowing. He also isnt afraid to try the latest, most

Christine
Nemcik, instructor in history
