Elon's graphic symbols and word marks are developed from Bembo typeface with specific modifications to the spacing and letter proportions. Please use the electronic files provided on this site. Do not attempt to reset type for any logo or wordmark use.

If the symbol (leaves and acorn) are to be reproduced at 1inch or smaller, please consider using bitmapped files with "1200bmp" included in the file name for clarity in detail.

Official colors for the Elon logo are Pantone 1245 (gold) and 202 (maroon). These colors should be used whenever possible. However, there may be times when a different color is required in conjunction with certain products or print needs. In these cases, please follow these guidelines:
  • When possible, keep color changes to variations of neutral colors rather than combining different hues.

  • If a distinct color change is necessary, change the entire logo. Do not create different color combinations with logo parts. Reverse logo to white or paper color.

  • The word "ELON" should always be the dominant color and in the highest-contrast to the background than the symbol unless the words and symbol are the same color.

PRODUCTION NOTES:

All eps files are vector images created in Freehand 7 and Illustrator 8. Colors may be altered in these programs. The oak leaves image is created in two layers - a solid silhouette layer and overlaid with a detail layer of the negative or background color. The detail layer has a stroke of .01 in the color of the silhouette. Versions B and D are created in Freehand with the leaf placed inside the box with the "Paste inside" command.
