Annual giving
While endowment provides long-term financial stability for an institution, the second crucial fundraising component is annual giving. For the past several years, a dependable stream of annual support from friends of Elon has provided funds for the annual operating budget, increasing from $750,000 in 2000 to $1.25 million in 2004. NewCentury@Elon calls for increasing alumni giving participation and increasing gifts to the Elon Fund to $1.5 million annually. Membership in the Elon Society will also increase, and donors will be encouraged to join the new premier giving circles: the Leadership Circle, President's Circle and Chairman's Circle.

Obtain capital gifts for new facilities
To fund construction of the Koury Business Center and additional pavilions in the Academic Village, Elon is seeking donors who wish to be partners in the support of academic excellence. Major contributions to name pavilions and building wings are needed along with smaller gifts for classrooms, labs and meeting spaces. Many generous benefactors can take credit for the development of Elon's beautiful campus. The benefits of those contributions are enjoyed every day as members of the community learn, work and live in outstanding facilities. NewCentury@Elon will seek donors who wish to provide major support through capital gifts.
