Premier professional and graduate programs
Elon's
outstanding professional programs continue to grow, and the quality of students
and faculty has steadily increased. In 2004, the Martha and Spencer Love
School of Business received accreditation by the Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). The education program
is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teaching Education
(NCATE), and the Doctor of Physical Therapy program is fully accredited
by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
Elon is now in the process of gaining accreditation for the communications
program by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications
(ACEJMC), making new investments in resources and shaping programs that
meet the most rigorous standards of quality.
Consider additional graduate and professional programs
Master's and professional degrees are now entry-level qualifications
for many professions, and many Elon students seek post-baccalaureate education
to further prepare for their careers. In fall 2004, the Board of Trustees
authorized the establishment of The Elon University
School of Law, which will open in downtown Greensboro, N.C. in fall
2006.
