Poem by Brad Avakian Elon University sophomore Sept. 24, 2001

World War III
At first we were shocked, and then filled with grief.
We wondered: who has been such a thief?
Who has stolen all of these innocent lives?
This person, this monster, he must not survive.
We must bring him to justice, through torture and pain.
Slaughter his people, they all are insane.
The only solution is the age-old saying:
An eye for an eye is how they'll be paying.
Except that's not enough, we will make it worse.
Because of one man, all these people are cursed.
We will destroy their entire race, And the planet will smile when they're wiped off her face.
But what if some of them are innocent too?
What if they are also wondering who?
We never considered they are also human, And maybe Bush should be different than Truman.
Thousands should not suffer for the actions of few, When the masses of them probably never even knew.
We must see that they are just like we are, This doesn't just hurt America, we ALL bear the scar.
American victims would not want to come back, To a world where more innocents are being attacked.
We must not let the violent acts increase, But instead, discover oneness and all seek peace.

In memory of all those who have lost their lives to violence EVER
