Prayer by Gregg Sullivan

I invite you to join me in this still place we name prayer:

God of all people, God of all places, Come to this place at this time. Be with us, some of your people, as we gather here in our need and our disbelief.

We experience chaos and confusion. Grant us clarity and sanity. Grant us stillness within this turmoil.

We feel fear and cry with uncertainty. Grant us the courage that is found when we are centered in ourselves, and ourselves centered in you.

Our sadness is a great sadness. We weep for our people, for our country, yes, even for our enemies. May we know this sadness is a righteous sadness and may we find comfort in that.

God of the quiet places and God of this day of disquiet, God of the largeness of life and God of its smallest corners, Come now into our stillness and our noise -- our largeness and our smallness. Help us become the peace we seek in our world. Help us become the love we seek in our lives.

God of all people, God of all places, Let it be so. Amen.
