Programs for VIF Students

Elon University has partnered with VIF International Education to create three opportunities for your personal and professional development.

  1. Join the M.Ed. Summer Cohort – In June of your first or second year in the U.S. begin with a summer residential experience at Elon University. Complete your M.Ed. in three summers spent on campus and two academic years taking online courses for a total of 26 months.  While you teach, you will earn an M.Ed. plus licensure in Elementary Education or Gifted Education.   2. Earn North Carolina licensure in Gifted Education – Take online classes in the fall and spring and then join us on campus for one residential summer. To apply, you will need to complete an online Special Student application and have transcripts from all colleges and universities attended sent to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
     
  3. Earn licensure and continue on for your M.Ed. – Attain licensure in Gifted Education by taking online classes in the fall and spring and on campus courses for one residential summer. Continue for two more years, joining the M.Ed. cohort already in progress for courses in educational psychology, technology, research, assessment and more to earn your M.Ed. An online M.Ed. application and two letters of recommendation need to be submitted to enroll in the cohort. Upon completion of two successful semesters of licensure work, the GRE/MAT requirement will be waived.

Summer residency is available for all VIF students at a reasonable cost.
