Welcome to Visual Advisor!

This section is for Elon students who have declared a Business Administration Major or are considering the BA Major.

This site will assist you in preparing for your pre-registration advising session. Remember, you are responsible for completing your program of study -- your advisor will assist you in determining appropriate schedules, but you are responsible for completing courses and program requirements, as necessary.

In order to prepare effectively for pre-registration/registration, please complete the following steps (you may want to print this page for reference):

1. Go to "Elon OnTrack", click on the link for "Degree Audit" under Student Quick Links, log in with your username and password, and print out your degree audit. Return to this page when you have your degree audit.
   
2. Once you have access to your current degree audit, you may find it helpful to review your program requirements as contained in the catalog (for the year you entered Elon). You can also access your Business Administration Major checksheet using the link provided on the Academic Advising Web site ( Elon University: Academic Advising). It may also be helpful to view the Recommended Course Sequence Diagram ( Recommended Course Sequence) to determine which courses are prerequisite to the courses you want to take. The Course Sequence Diagram is a planning tool and is based on the 2002-2003 Catalog -- your catalog requirements may vary.
   
3. Using your current degree audit, make a note of those classes that you need to complete in the coming terms. The current Schedule of Classes provided by the Registrar's office will show you the courses that are available for the coming term. You might want to highlight the classes you need to take.
   
4. Print a "Planned Program of Study" sheet ( Planned Program of Study). Return to this page when you have printed out a blank plan.
   
5. With your list of required courses (from Step 3), plan out a program of study for your remaining terms. Pay attention to course prerequisites (the arrows on the "Recommended Course Sequence" indicate which course must precede/follow courses).
   
6. Take your anticipated plan of study and discuss it with your advisor.
   
7. Fill out your pre-registration/registration forms, obtain the appropriate signatures, and proceed to register via OnTrack!
