Good Hearts, Good Skills provides an intensive learning and networking experience for a select group of non-profit executives from Alamance County, as well as the opportunity to pursue continuing professional development through the Duke Certificate Program. During the program, professional and volunteer executives and their respective board members will discuss and learn best practices in areas such as fund-raising, management, and executive director/board relations. The Good Hearts, Good Skills course of study will emphasize:
The “Good Hearts, Good Skills” program that is being offered in 2006 by the Hayden-Harman Foundation in cooperation with the Elon University Center for Public Affairs, Developing Leaders@Elon, and the Duke University Certification Program in Non-Profit Management. The Hayden-Harman Foundation supports “good works, good ideas, and good ideas that work.” The Foundation’s current focus is enhancing the effectiveness of Alamance County non-profits.
