Student Investment Fund

Each year, senior Business Fellows take over management of a portion of the Elon University endowment. Students manage the Student Investment Fund, a stock portfolio, within a set of broad guidelines from the Board of Trustees. They set goals, research and analyze stocks, and make trades using resources available in the Reed Finance Center.

The Business Fellows portfolio management team placed third in 2005 and first in 2006 in the RISE Global Student Investment Forum portfolio competition in the undergraduate equity blend category. Most recently, the 2012 class managed a portfolio that had an annualized return of 20.5% during the 2011-12 academic year.

The faculty advisor for the Student Investment Fund is Dr. Wonhi Synn.
