The primary goal of the School of Communications Careers Office is to assist communications students and alumni with self-assessment (exploring interests, abilities, values, and personaility style), exploration of academic majors, (Journalism, Strategic Communications, Media Arts & Entertainment, Communication Science, Sport & Event Management) career exploration, job searches, graduate program searches, networking, and creating and executing an action plan to secure a job or admission into a graduate program.

In recent years, Communications majors have been hired at National Geographic, the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, NBC Dateline International, Chicago Hospital News, Dreamworks Pictures, CNN, MTV Networks, NFL Films, Comedy Central, E! News, ESPN, The Raleigh News & Observer, Ogilvy and Mather, The Faith and Politics Institute, The Washington Post, and more.
In addition to preparing students for the work world, the Career Services Office also works with employers to provide excellent candidates for full-time job opportunities.
