Anderson Quoted in USA Today

Janna Anderson, assistant professor in the School of Communications, was quoted in an article on USA Today's Web site about college student engagement at colleges and universities nationwide.

Anderson, who teaches Media Writing, discussed the importance of feedback on students' writing assignments.

"Sometimes we have tears in the classroom, but usually in the class evaluations, everybody appreciates the honesty," Anderson says. "I celebrate mistakes. I say, 'This mistake will make you a better person if you take it and do something with it and don't just ignore it.' "
