Casino Night

Casino Night began three years ago as a special event planning project for an academic class in the Sport & Event Management (SEM) program at Elon University. Proceeds from this event have been donated to various local organizations. This year’s event will support Residential Treatment Services of Alamance and the SEM department’s endowed scholarship fund. This is a one-night event that is open to any member of the public, 18 years of age and older. A variety of casino games will be available, along with babysitting services provided for up to 25 children for those who pre-register.

Participants will play a variety of traditional casino games for the opportunity to exchange their “winnings” for the chance to win gift baskets with items collected from a variety of local businesses. (Pictures coming soon!)

SEM Workshops

Throughout the year SEM will be hosting workshops covering a variety of different topics. The workshops are designed to assist students in becoming better prepared for classes, internships, and future job opportunities. Our first workshop featured Alumni Molly Boyce, as well as Rhonda Kosusko from the Elon Career Center. These guest speakers shared a wealth of information about networking and searching for employment.

SEM Social Events

After an unfortunate rain cancellation for our SEM baseball tailgate, the society was able to hold its first social event of the semester on Friday October 9th. The gathering was held at Burlington's own Davidson Park in close proximity to campus, and provided opportunities for upperclassmen and freshman to share an afternoon of football, barbecue, corn hole, and some much needed R&R.
