Introduction to Premier Sport and Events Society

About the Society

The Premier Sport and Event Society is a student run organization that offers its members professional experience related to career interests in various industries. This outside of the classroom experience is achieved through various event planning activities, networking opportunities and educational pursuits. After being around for four years membership totals have increased steadily with a current total of 45 members. The Leisure and Sport Management Society is quickly becoming a premier organization to be involved with, for those with varied interests related to the Leisure and Sport Management industry.

The Premier Sport and Event Society is a student run organization. The executive board for the upcoming 2010-2011 school year includes:

President: Sam Miller
Vice President: Amanda Portoghese
Marketing Director: Zach Bennit
Treasurer: Bobby Rafferty
Secretary: Cassie Taylor

To be involved in planning our upcoming events for the fall semester please join the executive board for LSMS meetings on Mondays at 8PM. Meetings will be held the second week of each month starting in Linder 208.

The 2009-2010 SEM Executive Board and several society members attended the Georgia Southern Sports Management Conference (pictured below) and held elections for the 2010-2011 school year. Congratulations to Cassie Taylor, Bobby Rafferty, Amanda Portoghese, Zach Bennit, and Sam Miller on their new executive board positions.
