Elon's Leisure and Sport Management
majors focus on five major study areas of leisure management:
facilities, sport (spectator and participant), tourism,
public recreation and cultural arts. The list below is not
all-inclusive, but it gives you some idea of what each area
entails.
Facilities: stadiums, coliseums,
auditoriums, museums and resorts
Sport: professional and amateur sports
teams, country clubs, health centers and dance studios
Tourism: hotels, theme parks, restaurants,
service industry, campgrounds, travel agencies and cruise
lines
Non-Commercial Recreation: national, state
and local parks; YMCA/YWCA; Special Olympics and Senior
Games
Cultural arts: cultural and performing arts
centers, theaters and entertainment providers
