Welcome to the School of Education

Elon's School of Education has as its primary focus the development of outstanding teachers. The school prides itself in a student-oriented philosophy, early and continuous field experiences, and national accreditations of its programs.

The School of Education is the administrative unit for undergraduate programs in elementary education, middle grades education and special education. The graduate program offers the M.Ed. degree with concentrations in elementary education, special education, and gifted education.

The teacher education program in the School of Education also administers K-12 licensure in the areas of music, foreign languages, and physical education and health. Secondary licensure areas include English, mathematics, science (biology, chemistry and physics) and social studies (history).

In addition, the School of Education houses the North Carolina Teaching Fellows program and the Office of Education Outreach. We hope you enjoy exploring Elon's School of Education through these Web pages.

Sincerely,

David Cooper
