Elon's School of Education has as its primary focus the development of outstanding teachers and the promotion of health and wellness. The school prides itself in a student-oriented, evidence-based philosophy of teaching, early and continuous field experiences, and national accreditations of its programs.
The School of Education is the administrative unit for undergraduate programs in early childhood education, elementary education, middle grades education and special education. The graduate program offers the M.Ed. degree with concentrations in elementary education, special education, and gifted education.
The teacher education program in the School of Education also administers K-12 licensure in the areas of music, Spanish, and physical education/health, and secondary/high school licensure in the areas of English, mathematics, science (biology, chemistry and physics) and social studies (history).
