Dear Fellow Pre-Health Professions Students,
On behalf of the Lincoln Pre-Medical Society, welcome to Elon University! The Lincoln Pre-Medical society welcomes students of all majors to join. The purpose of the society is to provide students with support and guidance on the journey towards a career in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Physical Therapy, and other healthcare professions.
The Lincoln Pre-Medical Society is a group of pre-health students and academic advisors that meet every other week. Meetings are held in an open discussion format. Each meeting focuses on a different topic. Topics include how to get involved in service in the community, writing a personal statement, getting an internship, tackling the interview, and the application process to provide a realistic understanding of the pathway to becoming a physician, physician’s assistant, nurse, nurse practitioner, dentist, optometrist, physical therapist, and veterinarian. Guest speakers are also brought in to speak with the group. Students also enjoy sharing their stories and experiences.
The Lincoln Pre-Medical society provides the environment for students to succeed, and encourages its members to be well rounded students. This organization exists to provide guidance in the steps to prepare for and apply for the health professions.
Make sure to utilize all of the resources the university has for you. It is always great to get an early start. The Lincoln Pre-Medical Society is here for you along the way, and encourages you to enjoy your time here at Elon University.
