Dance Alumni

In addition to on-campus production experience, the majority of Elon students graduate with professional credits on their resumes due to summer regional dance work, internships, regional and national festivals, and a wide variety of relevant experiences. Soon after graduation, Elon students are working in New York, Seattle, New Zealand, National Tours, Regional Dance Companies, and a variety of cruises. Highlighted below are a few examples of the work of our alumni during the past season.

Allie Lochary graduated from Elon in 2009, receiving a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. Elon credits include: member of the Elon Dancers 2005-2007, performing in the works of Lauren Kearns, Lila York, Rebecca Hutchins, and Jane Wellford, and member of the Elon Dance Company 2007-2009, performing in the works of Laura Dean (reconstructed by Liz Maxwell), Lauren Kearns, and Amy Love Beasley. Professional credits include: kearns dance project, NC,  Martha Connerton's Kinetic Works Dance Company,NC,  Flash-mob Scene for the movie "Fame" (Oliver and Teri Steele), NY, NY, "It's Not What You Think It Is" (soloist), Oliver Steele, performed at Dance New Amsterdam, NY, NY. Jessica Wockenfuss graduated from Elon in 2009, receiving a a B.A. in Dance and a B.F.A. in Music Theatre. Elon credits include: A Chorus Line, Cabaret, West Side Story, Carousel, The Cherry Orchard and member of the Elon Dance Company. Professional credits include: Holland America Cruise Line, Stiletto Entertainment; Theatre By the Sea- A Chorus Line, Hello, Dolly!, The Producers, George M!, Evita; "Wild Country," Hershey Park. Annie McGhee graduated from Elon in 2008, receiving a B.A. in Dance and a B.A. in Communications. Elon credits include: member of the Elon Dancers 2004-2007 performing in the works of Lila York, Nina Wheeler and Jane Wellford, member of the Elon Dance Company performing in the works of Chuck Davis and Nina Wheeler. Professional credits include: kearns dance project, NC, Spoleto Dance Festival, Charleston SC (producing team), New Zealand Dance Festival (producing team), 2010 Full Tilt Production, Seattle WA, dancing with a variety of Seattle choreographers including Nick and Anna Golla. 

 

  

Rachel Perlman graduated from Elon in 2010, receiving a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. Elon credits include: member of the Elon Dancers  2006-2007, member of the Elon Dance Company 2007-2010, assistant director of Tapped Out! 2008-2010, President of DanceWorks student organization, Dance Captain and performer in "Psycho Beach Party" directed by Fred Rubeck. Professional credits include: "VIP" dancer for the Dance Olypus Convention and dancer in the 2009 Miss North Carolina Pageant. Rachel sets sail on her next adventure as a dancer for Holland America's ms Zaandam cruise ship where she'll be dancing for the next eight months. Jim Reynolds graduated from Elon in 2010, receiving a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. Elon credits include: member of the Elon Dance Company 2007-2010 performing in the works of Chuck Davis, Laura Dean (reconstructed by Liz Maxwell), Lauren Kearns, Jen Guy Metcalf, Cherie Bower, Jane Wellford, Linda Sabo, and Amy Love Beasley. Professional credits include: Upon the Remembered Earth (Jen Guy Metcalf), live.work.play (soloist) Carlos Miller performed at the Emerging Choreographers Concert, Jacksonville, FL. Jim recently accepted an Apprenticeship with North Carolina Dance Theatre. He is also a certified Pilates instructor and lives in Charlotte, NC. April Holloway graduated from Elon in 2007, receiving a B.A. in Dance Performance.  Elon credits include: member of Elon Dancers 2004 - 2007, performing in the works of Cherie Bower, Shouze Ma, Jane Wellford, Nina Wheeler, Bergen Wheeler, Rebecca Hutchins, Linda Sabo, Jason Coosner, Katrina Taylor, Eluza Santos, Ava Vinset, and Lila York.  Elon Musical Theatre credits include: West Side Story (Estella) and Contact (dancer). The Ailey School credits include: Summer Intensive (Full Scholarship), Carribean Workshop Performance (soloist). Professional credits include: Oprah Winfrey’s European Trip of a Lifetime (featured dancer), Norwegian Cruise Line (dancer), Virginia Musical Theatre’s West Side Story (Rosalia), and The Lost Colony (dancer).
