Jane Wellford
Jane Wellford is a member of the Performing Arts Faculty
at Elon University teaching in the areas of Modern Dance,
Dance History, Choreography, and Movement Education. Ms.
Wellford is coordinator of the Adjunct Dance Faculty and
teaches in several other areas of the General Studies
program for Elon as well. Ms. Wellford received her
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from St. Andrews
Presbyterian College and her Master of Fine Arts in Dance
from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Wellford is founder and director of Moving Liturgy, a
professional liturgical dance troupe based in Burlington,
N.C. Moving Liturgy has performed and traveled
extensively, offering dances of worship to hundreds of
churches, conferences, schools and arts and worship
festivals over the past 15 years. Ms. Wellford has danced
professionally in ballet and modern dance and continues
to be an active member of the following organizations:
The North Carolina Dance Alliance; The American Dance
Festival; The Sacred Dance Guild; N.C. Assoc. of Health,
Physical Ed., Recreation, Leisure and Dance; The Alamance
Arts Council and past Dance Mistress for the Alamance
Civic Dance Company for 11 years.
