Religious Studies Awards, Scholarships, and Honor Society

Awards

Each spring, the Department of Religious Studies selects students to receive the following awards:

  • The Greek Bible Award: Given to the most conscientious and best-prepared student in the New Testament Greek class.

  • The Basnight Award: Given to the outstanding Bible student for the current academic year.

  • The Religion Scholar Award: Given to the rising senior whom the religious studies faculty determines to have done the most outstanding work in religious studies courses for the current academic year.

Department Scholarships

There are generous scholarship monies available for students who major in religious studies and/or plan careers in some form of religious leadership or service. Information about these scholarships is made available each spring.  For the current application deadline and form, please click here.

Honor Society

Theta Alpha Kappa is a National Honor Society in religious studies. Students who meet the following requirements are selected for membership in the Elon University chapter of this society: an overall grade point average of 3.00 or better and a 3.5 grade point average in at least 12 hours of courses in religious studies.
