Bill Payne, Elon MBA alumnus class of 2005 and director of
facility and engineering at Alamance Regional Medical Center
in Burlington, North Carolina, was presented with the Region
3 Regional Leader Award of American Society for Healthcare
Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA)
at ASHE’s 42nd Annual Conference and
Technical Exhibition on July 11, 2005, in Anaheim,
California. According to ASHE, “This prestigious
award is presented to one ASHE member from each of
ASHE’s ten geographic regions, recognizing an
individual’s commitment to ASHE and the healthcare
facilities management profession.”
In presenting the award, ASHE President W. Thomas SChipper
said, “It is an honor to present William with this
award. His commitment to the society and our field is
integral to the growth and recognition of our
profession. With members like William, I know that our
future is secure.”
Upon receiving the award, Bill said, “This award means
to me that great things will happen when you can help focus a
group of engineers to a common goal,” said Payne.
“I am personally very pleased and honored to receive
this award. For years to come, I will look at this
award hanging on my wall and it will remind me of what a
great group of guys/gals we have in North Carolina,” he
added.
