Bill Payne, Elon MBA alumnus class of 2005 and director of facility and engineering at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington, North Carolina, was presented with the Region 3 Regional Leader Award of American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association (AHA) at ASHE’s 42nd Annual Conference and Technical Exhibition on July 11, 2005, in Anaheim, California.  According to ASHE, “This prestigious award is presented to one ASHE member from each of ASHE’s ten geographic regions, recognizing an individual’s commitment to ASHE and the healthcare facilities management profession.”

In presenting the award, ASHE President W. Thomas SChipper said, “It is an honor to present William with this award. His commitment to the society and our field is integral to the growth and recognition of our profession.  With members like William, I know that our future is secure.”

Upon receiving the award, Bill said, “This award means to me that great things will happen when you can help focus a group of engineers to a common goal,” said Payne.  “I am personally very pleased and honored to receive this award.  For years to come, I will look at this award hanging on my wall and it will remind me of what a great group of guys/gals we have in North Carolina,” he added.

Congratulations, Bill!
