Guidelines for the Award:
The News & Record MBA Fellowship will be
awarded annually to two incoming students (one
enrolling in August and one in February) who have
demonstrated academic ability, professional leadership
and managerial promise.
Awards:
Two full-tuition fellowships will be awarded each
year. These fellowships are for tuition only.
Application:
No separate application is necessary. Every applicant
living in The News & Record 11-county
(Guilford, Forsyth, Alamance, Randolph, Rockingham,
Davidson, Moore, Montgomery, Chatham, Stokes and
Caswell) home-delivery area will be automatically
considered for this award.
Selection
Criteria:
Students whose academic performance and GMAT scores
indicate promise of academic success and whose
professional experiences indicate leadership will be
invited to interview with the Selection Committee.
Recipients will be chosen from among those candidates
whose credentials and interview most closely meet the
guidelines of the fellowship. Announcement of the
winner will be made no later than a month prior to the
start date of MBA 501 (in August and February).
To maintain scholarship
eligibility:
Students must complete the program in three years from
their initial start date. Students must maintain at
least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and after year 1 have
completed all foundational coursework and a minimum of
3 MBA classes; after year 2 a minimum of 8 MBA classes.
If a student becomes ineligible to retain this award,
scholarship funds will not be reinstated at a later
date.
