Welcome/Information Session for New Honors Students 

Who: All First-Year Students When: Monday, August 31 from 5:00-7:00 PM Where: The Kenan Honors Pavilion in the Academic Village What: Meet key people involved with the Honors Program, get crucial information, and eat!

All Fellows Welcome Back Picnic

Who: All Honors Fellows What: Time to meet and get to know one another (and eat!) When: Friday, September 4 at 5:00 p.m. Where: In front of the Kenan Honors Pavilion and Lindner; Rain Location TBA

 Family Weekend

 What: Reception so that families of Honors Fellows can meet one another and meet the directors of the Honors Program

When:  Saturday, 9/26, after meetings with faculty; 11 - 12 pm

Where:  Kenan Honors Pavilion lobby

 

Thesis Workshops, events and due dates

2nd year Fellows, Overview of Thesis meeting:  Friday September 4^th from 3 to 4:30 pm, in Lindner 210 

3rd year Fellows, Writing the Thesis Proposal:  Friday, September 11^th  from 3 to 4:30 pm in Lindner 210

4th year Fellows:  Presentations in Progress:  Friday, October 23 from 3 – 5 p.m.  (selected rooms in Alamance TBA)

Thesis Proposals
Third-year Honors Fellows currently enrolled in HNR 498 must turn in their thesis proposals by Monday, Oct. 26 at 9:00 a.m. in Lindner 200H. Other third-year Fellows may turn them in if they wish, or can wait until the spring deadline.

Honor Society Induction
 

Who: Invited outstanding second-year students who achieved a grade point average of 3.7 or above in their first year

What: Phi Eta Sigma Induction Ceremony

When: Monday October 26 at 7 pm in McKinnon; details TBA
