National Fellowships for Graduate Study

If you’re thinking about furthering your education after graduating from Elon, planning is imperative; and the earlier you start, the more likely you are to achieve the future you want. Elon provides its students with the courses, intellectual challenges, faculty assistance, research opportunities, extracurricular activities, and other resources to make graduate school a realistic goal. For top students, a prestigious national scholarship may be within reach. Learn more about specific national fellowships and scholarships.

If one of these scholarships sounds right for you, carefully investigate its Web site to confirm your eligibility and chances. Each has specific criteria and some require nomination by Elon. All of them are very competitive and involve an extensive application process – usually taking months to complete and requiring multiple drafts of numerous essays, but as you’ll see, the payoff can be tremendous.

Careful planning is essential in order to maximize your chances for success. Check out the tips about a four-year timeline for preparing for graduate school and some things to think about when making the decision to continue your studies after graduating from Elon.

If you’re willing to invest the time to do the process thoroughly and effectively and can start early, help is available through the Elon Honors Program. Contact Janet Myers, Coordinator of National and International Fellowships, at 278-5729 or via e-mail at jmyers@elon.edu.
