Thesis Workshop 1Who: 2nd year Honors Fellows and any 3rd year Honors Fellows who do not yet have a faculty mentor What: Topics include overview of the thesis and how to find a faculty mentor and overview of the thesis timeline When: Friday, September 5 at 3:00 Where: McEwen 011 Thesis Workshop 2Who: 3rd-year Honors Fellows What: Topic is how to write a good thesis proposal - including the different parts of the thesis proposal (narrative, annotated bibliography, budget, and timeline) When: Friday, September 12 at 3:00 p.m.

Alamance 218 Family WeekendWhat: Reception so that families of Honors Fellows can meet one another and meet the directors of the Honors Program When: Saturday, September 27 after meetings with faculty (around 11:00 a.m.) Where: Kenan Honors Pavilion lobby Thesis-in-Progress PresentationsOn Friday, October 24, from 3 to 5 pm, seniors working on their Honors theses will make short presentations and ask for feedback. Third-year Honors Fellows currently enrolled in HNR 498 must turn in their thesis proposals by Monday, Oct. 27 at 9:00 a.m. in Alamance 216. Other third-year Fellows may turn them in if they wish, or can wait until the spring deadline. Honor Society Induction
Who: Invited outstanding second-year students who achieved a grade point average of 3.7 or above in their first year What: Phi Eta Sigma Induction Ceremony When: Monday October 27 at 7 pm in McKinnon; details TBA Pre-registration
Pre-registration begins on Nov. 6. Honors Fellows should consult with their academic advisors before using OnTrack. A list of upcoming Honors courses and their descriptions, meeting times, etc. can be found on the Courses page. Please consult Dr. Vandermaas-Peeler if you have any questions.
