The event: Students, faculty, and staff were carefully selected to discuss several pertinent issues in an open, educational, and respectful forum to benefit the community of Elon University. There were four teams (Republican, Democrat, Independent, and International) offering unique perspectives on three issues. Voting to determine the three debate issues took place both at College Coffee on Sept. 19, 2012 and online. Nearly six hundred faculty, students and staff cast votes, and, based on these votes, the top three issues are: the Economy, Healthcare, and Same Sex Marriage.
