Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Doug Marlette spoke
about "The Art of Religious Satire" on Tuesday,
Feb. 18 to a sizeable college and community audience in
Whitley Auditorium. After his speech, he met with the
students in my Religion & Media class (JCM 375) and
answered their questions. The students had a follow-up
assignment about Marlette's speech. They had to
locate an article on some aspect of his talk - the first
amendment, satire, etc. - and then write an essay. We
will be referring to the event and to Marlette's work
throughout the semester.
