Goal 2: Provide Facilities to Support Excellence

ENHANCE CAMPUS FACILITIES IN SUPPORT OF ACADEMIC AND STUDENT PROGRAMS

• Plan and build the Spence pavilion, the Belk pavilion and the Lindner rotunda
• Construct pedestrian tunnel to south campus
• Construct a 1,500 seat auditorium
• Develop strategies and plans for additional academic and student program spaces especially in the sciences, communications and for the Koury Center.
• Develop strategies and plans for additional athletic spaces and university support services

DEVELOP A MORE COMPLETE RESIDENTIAL CAMPUS

• Create community spaces in residence halls that promote engaged learning and positive social interactions
• Plan to meet current fraternity/sorority housing needs
• Complete residence halls and dining facility at the Koury Business Center site
• Increase to 60% the number of undergraduates living on campus with juniors and seniors comprising 20% of those residents
• Create new and/or light additional athletic and recreational fields
• Continue development of residential learning communities
• Develop bicycle and sidewalk plan with the town
