Presidential charge
Aug. 27: President Lambert meets with the search committee to outline objective and process

Position announcement
Sept. 2: Announcement appears in The Chronicle of Higher Education and other venues

Position prospectus
Sept. 10-11: Faculty and staff participate in forums to discuss expectations for the next Provost; Witt/Kieffer meets with the search committee, those who report directly to the Provost, other administrative staff, and students to draft the Position Prospectus

Recruitment process
September/October: Witt/Kieffer receives applications, actively recruits, and reviews candidate credentials

Selection for preliminary interviews
Early November: Search committee selects six or more candidates for preliminary interviews

Search committee interviews
Nov. 20-21: Search committee conducts preliminary interviews (names not released) and selects three or more candidates to move forward

Campus visits
Early December: Campus interviews of finalists (names and CVs released in advance)
