The John L. Georgeo Scholarship

 

The Georgeo Scholarship will be awarded annually to two incoming students of outstanding character who show academic promise and talent or leadership experience valued by the Elon community.


    Applicants must demonstrate:

  • High school performance and standardized test scores that indicate promise of academic success 
  • Activities and involvement which indicate leadership and commitment


Special consideration will be given to students who meet some or all of the following:

  • Demonstrate leadership  that is exemplary, entrepreneurial or of a sustained nature that has made a difference to a community in the opinion of others
  • Bring cultural or socio-economic diversity to the university
  • Are the first members of their families to attend college
  • Have a personal history which reflects undue hardship or notable sacrifice

 

Scholarships:

 

Two scholarships of $7,500 each will be awarded each year. These scholarships are for tuition only and are renewable annually based on academic performance, financial need, citizenship and full-time enrollment. Each recipient is also entitled to a one-time $4,000 Study Abroad grant as long as the student remains eligible to retain the Georgeo Scholarship Award.
