Dean's message

As July comes to a close, our faculty, staff and I are gearing up with renewed excitement to welcome back students for the fall 2018 semester—my first semester as dean of our Elon School of Communications!

As I begin my journey, I first want to thank Paul Parsons for his immeasurable contributions to the school as founding dean, as well as for his in-depth orientation since my arrival. As we embark on the school’s next era of excellence, it’s been insightful and inspiring to learn about our school’s journey to national recognition. And you, School of Communications alumni, are the stars of our history and growth trajectory. Already I have met alumni and students in Los Angeles, Atlanta and North Carolina, and I want to meet more.

Mark your calendars to join us for Homecoming Weekend 2018 (Nov. 2-4). This weekend gives alumni (recent and those from the Elon College days) an opportunity to network and share your wisdom and advice with students, faculty and staff. We need to engage with each other, support each other, so we can continue to build our Elon Communications Empire on campus and throughout the world. I want to not only serve our current students but to also service you throughout your professional journey.

Stay in touch and follow us on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.

Sincerely,

Rochelle Ford
Dean, School of Communications
