From the dean

For the third straight year, the Alamance-Burlington School System Teacher of the Year is an Elon alumna. Congratulations to Kim Poe '08 on her selection. And while the media have focused on the rising costs of higher education, the School of Education has awarded more than $800,000 in tuition scholarships to prospective teachers. Impressive as this figure is, though, it provides only about 10 percent of the total tuition bill for our students. Your generosity is appreciated.

See you on Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. in Mooney Building for our Homecoming gathering.

David Cooper,

Both join the long-standing tradition of School of Education alumni who have earned Teacher of the Year recognition. Have you received a professional honor recently? Please contact Janelle Ellis Rouse at and let us know.

We wish all of our graduates the best of luck!
