Young alumni: It’s no understatement to say that you will play a critical role in the future of the university. Elon’s alumni body is unusually young—nearly 65 percent are under the age of 40, and 33 percent are 10 years out or less from graduation.
With that in mind, Elon’s Office of Alumni Engagement is always working to make sure that it meets your needs and those of your fellow Elon graduates. This takes the form of programming that focuses specifically on young alumni, as well as incorporating your perspective when designing overall alumni programs and initiatives.
If you want to learn more about any of the following programs or you would like to get involved, please contact the Office of Alumni Engagement at email@example.com or (877) 784-3566.
After graduation, Elon’s young alumni branch out across the United States and the world, bringing their talents and passions to new jobs, new homes and new adventures. Elon has 38 alumni chapters across the U.S. and in London, to serve you and help you stay connected to your alma mater. From Welcome to the City events to summer baseball games, Elon Day parties to service events, our alumni chapters make sure Elon never feels too far away. Follow your chapter on Facebook, and get connected today!
Chapters aren’t just committed to helping you get connected in your city; each year our six largest chapters host events focused on professional development and lifELONg learning. These events take on a range of structures including panels of entrepreneurs, financial planning and home-buying seminars, and conference-style breakout sessions on a variety of topics. Look out for one of these events each year in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C.
As the number of Elon’s young alumni continue to grow, dynamic volunteer opportunities have been created to reflect your tech savvy and multitasking skills and lifestyles. We know that finding time can be difficult, so these volunteer programs are designed to let you make a big impact with a small time commitment. They are also easily completed through email and social media.
As Elon’s first digital volunteer program, Alumni 360 allows alumni to share their feedback and input to shape the alumni experience for years to follow. All members will complete four brief, quarterly surveys per year on topics such as Homecoming, alumni communications and future alumni initiatives.
Social Media Ambassadors:
Designed to expand and enhance Elon’s alumni social networks, social media ambassadors post Elon-related stories or events approximately once a month, based around primary calendar of events. Social media ambassadors are increasingly important with major events such as Homecoming, Luminaries and Elon Day.
Elon Alumni Peer Agents:
The goal of this program is to involve alumni in annual giving campaigns on a consistent basis during the fiscal year. In order to help Elon reach alumni giving participation goals, each volunteer will help secure 10 donors to Elon each fiscal year.
Elon alumni are ready to make their mark on the world after graduation, and they do it fast! Each spring, the Young Alumni Council, in coordination with the Office of Alumni Engagement, recognizes 10 young alumni for outstanding service to their community, significant professional success and loyal support of Elon. Recipients are invited to Elon for an awards banquet in their honor.

The Office of Alumni Engagement has three Alumni Engagement Officers (AEOs) dedicated to connecting with, and serving as a resource for, young alumni. Through one-on-one meetings, personal outreach and relationship building, AEOs act as a point of contact for alumni to stay updated about what’s happening on campus and plans for the future, and most importantly, provide information about professional growth opportunities and ways to engage with the Elon Network. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
