Alcohol Consumption Guidelines at Elon

Phans who choose to consume alcohol before the game must adhere to the following guidelines:

• Elon University supports abstinence as well as low-risk consumption. For those choosing to consume alcohol, responsible and appropriate behavior is required on the Elon campus. Inappropriate behavior may result in sanctions by law enforcement authorities and forfeiture of tailgating privileges.
  
• For individuals of legal age (21 years or older), alcohol consumption is allowed while tailgating in the designated area of the Elon campus (Harper Lot). Individuals must provide their own alcohol. All state and local laws must be observed. Alcohol cannot be sold on university property.
  
• All beverages must be consumed in opaque cups. For safety reasons, open containers, kegs, other multi-serving containers, glass bottles or aluminum cans are not allowed.
  
• Limit alcohol consumption to only beer and wine.
  
• Alcohol is not allowed inside Rhodes Stadium.

University Staff and Campus Police have the right to remove any individual or group from the tailgating area due to inappropriate or unsafe behavior.

Please note that town ordinance prohibits consumption of alcohol or open alcohol containers on town streets or property. This includes sidewalks. Patrons who violate this ordinance are subject to citation by police, which may require a court appearance.
