COACHES
Aaron Walker Before coming to Elon, Walker was an assistant at the University of North Carolina (2004-05). He also served as Strength and Conditioning Coach at South Carolina State University (2003-04). He worked with football and women’s basketball at UNC, and he trained all varsity sports at SCSU. Walker graduated from East Carolina University in May 2002 with a bachelor of science in communications. He played football for ECU, where he was a three-year starter. He started 36 straight games, including three bowl games. Following graduation, he played professional football in the German Football League for the Assindia Cardinals, where he was Defensive MVP. Walker also coached football and assisted in the weight room while working at Irmo High School in Columbia, S.C. Walker is married to the former Michaela Durkin. They have a son, Aaron Michael Walker.
Megan McCollum
Before coming to Elon, McCollum interned at Wake Forest University under the direction of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Ethan Reeve. She had the opportunity to implement strength programs for volleyball and women’s basketball and conditioning drills for the Wake Forest football team. McCollum received her master’s degree from Texas A&M University in 2004 in sports physiology. During her time at A&M, McCollum underwent two strength and conditioning practicums under the guidance of Raychelle Ellsworth, Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning at Texas A&M. While there, McCollum studied program design and assisted in the training of practicum I students. McCollum obtained her bachelor’s degree in agronomy at N.C. State University in May 2002 and minored in coaching education. Prior to entering N.C. State, McCollum played soccer for one year at Rockingham Community College. | ||
