Top marks from U.S. News & World Report

In its 2010 “America's Best Colleges” guide, U.S.News rated Elon the nation's top “up-and-coming” university on a list of 77 schools. For the third consecutive year, the university also ranked second among 117 Southern master's-level university and among the top schools in the nation in seven academic program categories.
Elon also earned the magazine’s recognition for “Great Schools, Great Prices,” ranking #15 among Southern master’s-level universities based on a combination of academic quality and net costs for students and their families.

Named best value by Kiplinger’s

Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine name Elon one of the nation's "best value" private universities and the #2 university in total costs. The 2009-10 ranking is the fourth consecutive top-50 placement of Elon by Kiplinger’s. Elon was also named the nation's "leader in engaged learning" and one of 25 featured colleges in Newsweek-Kaplan’s 2010 guide.

Tops in civic engagement, community service

For the fourth consecutive year, Elon earned a presidential award as a national leader in service learning and civic engagement. The Corporation for National & Community Service named the university to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll With Distinction for exemplary service efforts to America's communities. The honor roll is the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service learning and civic engagement. The university was also named one of five recipients of the Washington Center’s inaugural Higher Education Civic Engagement Award, a new honor given by the national nonprofit organization in recognition of a commitment to service learning and civic engagement on campus.

MBA ranked #1 in the South by BusinessWeek

BusinessWeek magazine ranked Elon the #1 school in the South and the sixth best school in the nation in its list of top part-time MBA program. The university was ranked #4 nationally on academic quality and #6 on student satisfaction. The MBA program of Elon’s Martha and Spencer Love School of Business also ranked as the nation's fifth "best administered" program in The Princeton Review's 2010 edition of the "Best 301 Business Schools."

Named among 371 “Best Colleges” by Princeton Review

For the seventh year in a row, Elon was named one of the nation's top colleges and universities by The Princeton Review. The guide listed Elon #16 on its “School Runs Like Butter” list. Also, for the second year in a row, Elon received a 94 score (out of 100) on Princeton Review’s “Green Rating,” which measures environmentally friendly practices by colleges. Elon was also among 15 colleges and universities recognized as the decade's hottest colleges by The Daily Beast, one of the leading new Web-based media outlets. The list of 15 colleges and universities ranked schools that made up a "whole new class of first-choice schools" that have "transformed the collegiate landscape" during the past 10 years.

Named one of the nation's "Great Colleges to Work For"

The Chronicle of Higher Education recognized Elon University in its 2009 “Great Colleges to Work For” program, which honors institutions for best practices and policies, such as faculty-administration relations, confidence in senior leadership, and compensation and benefits. Elon is one of 150 colleges named to the second annual list. This spring marked the first time the university participated in a survey used to identify honorees.
