The Spring 2014 POWERless competition was February 26 – March 19.
The overall amount of kilowatt hours not used compared to the baseline consumption was 18,882 kWh. This is enough to power about 17 North Carolina homes for a month based on average consumption, and is the equivalent of not burning 10 tons of coal, or preventing about 10 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
In the Neighborhood competition the greatest energy reduction was achieved by:
Division II: Historic, Academic Pavilions – 12.3%
Division I: Oaks – 8.3%
The buildings with the top energy reduction in each Division were:
Division II: Loy A, B, C – 18.1%
Division I: Oaks Building F – 9.5%
