Hunter Bacot, associate
professor of political science, is director of the Elon
University Poll. Bacot oversees instrument design, survey
development, interviewer training, and data analysis. His
research interests include North Carolina politics and
policy, urban politics, and environmental policy. A native
North Carolinian, Bacot received a bachelor's degree from
the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a
master's of public administration degree from UNCC, and a
doctorate in political science from the University of
Tennessee.

George Taylor, professor of
political science, is director of the Institute for Politics
and Public Affairs. Taylor coordinates activities among the
Center for Public Opinion Polling and the Center for Public
Affairs. Taylor consults on survey design and methodological
issues for the Elon University Poll. His research interests
include research methodology, political behavior, and urban
politics. He also directs Elon University’s National
Campaign for Student Political Engagement. Taylor received
his doctorate from the University of Georgia.
