Liberal Arts Forum
(Faculty, Students) - Funding Group: Liberal Arts Forum
- Eligible to apply: The
Liberal Arts Forum is funded entirely by the Student Government
Association. The Forum sponsors a variety of lectures each year on
topics of interest to the student members of the Forum who select and
host the speakers. Forum speakers are usually published authors or
film/video producers. In this way the class component of the Forum is
served when selections from the speakers’ work can be assigned prior to
the guest’s visit. They have not funded “motivational speakers.”
Faculty who wish to propose speakers should contact the
adviser to the Forum, who may ask for a written proposal that can be
presented to the Forum and will possibly arrange for the faculty member
to attend a Forum meeting to discuss their proposal with the student
members.
- Scope of funding: The Forum usually sponsors four speakers each semester. The 2006-2007 budget for honorariums and travel was $45,000.

Forum selects and contracts speakers 12 months ahead of their
appearance. (Decisions for Fall 2008 will be made during the Fall 2007
semester.)

Second Year Faculty Library Grant
(Faculty) - Funding Group: Faculty Library Committee
- Eligible to receive: Faculty on continuing appointments who are entering their second year of employment
- Scope of funding: To be used to select books and/or audiovisual materials for Belk Library
- Amount of (or range of) grants in 2006-07: $500 per faculty member
- Deadlines and decision dates:
Faculty will be notified via e-mail in late spring of their first year.
Orders must be received by Jan. 1 of the faculty member’s second year.

Faculty Technology Partners Program (Faculty)
Project Pericles: Service Sabbaticals (Staff)
- Funding Group: Project Pericles Service Sabbatical Committee
- Eligible to apply: All Elon staff with two or more years of service to the institution.
- Scope of funding: Up to one month release time to work on the Service Sabbatical.
- Amount of (or range of) grants in 2006-07: Three Service Sabbaticals have been granted in 2006-2007.
- Deadlines and decision dates: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year.

Project Pericles: Periclean Scholars Program (Students)

- Eligible to apply: Current and former classes of Periclean Scholars
- Scope of funding: Funds are to go to non-governmental agencies that have worked or are now working with Periclean Scholars classes

Undergraduate Research (Students) Isabella Cannon Centre Need-Based Travel Grants (Students)

- Eligible to apply: All students who have been accepted to a study abroad program and who have filed for FAFSA
- Scope of funding: Funds can be used for any expenses related to study abroad such as books, travel, housing, meals, etc.
