Elmon T. and Pamela Gray give $500,000 to name new pavilion

Elon trustee emeritus Elmon T. Gray and his wife, Pamela, made a $500,000 gift to name the Ella Darden and Elmon Lee Gray Pavilion in the Academic . Elmon T. Gray made the gift in honor of his grandparents. His grandmother, Ella Darden Gray, was active in the Christian Church, now the United Church of Christ, which founded Elon. In addition, her nephews James Wesley Parker and Charles Wesley Parker Jr. graduated from Elon in 1939 and 1941 respectively.
